Brooklyn 1/2.

I met Jody and Regina at the far end of Prospect Park yesterday so we could watch their hubby's run in the Brooklyn 1/2 Marathon. Peter and Paul had a great run in the perfect weather. Congratulations guys! The race ended at Coney Island so the three of us drove there to pick them up. Our visit was short lived since the guys wanted/needed to shower and we were all hungry. We headed back to Regina and Paul's place to relax a bit before brunch at Van Horn. YUM! After brunch, Regina and Paul split and Jody, Peter and I headed to Williamsburg so Jody could water her rooftop garden. Peter made ice coffees and we all relaxed (it was still only 1pm). Eventually, we motivated for a walk through McCarren Park. We ended up down at the Smorgasburg by the water. When you visit, we will go. There are definitely some interesting foods to try. Our favorite was the donut from Dough. Thank GOD I don't live in Bed Stuy or I would weigh 400 pounds. Onwards to the Brooklyn Denim Store-no luck and past the bar with $1 beers, oversized connect four, and pinball. Finally, we decided we should get a light dinner before I headed home. We went back to Miller's, the spot we had dinner when I was in Brooklyn looking for apartments. They have $1 oysters. After dinner, I made my way home. I totally messed up the subway at 4th Ave. I hopped off the G and couldn't figure out where the R train was and which way I was suppose to be headed. Kind of embarrassing since I only live one stop from there. Oh well. I made it eventually. Overall, it was an awesome day!
