Getting settled...

The last few days have had their ups and downs - moving is always challenging. Thank GOD for my friends Allison, Isaac and Steve for making the move from VT easier. Today was filled with mostly ups! I did my second test commute this morning to be sure I know what to do on Monday. It went well. I think I've got it down. I'm taking two trains and maybe a bus on the Manhattan side when it's raining/snowing. It will take me just shy of an hour to get to work in Midtown. That will be an adjustment but, it goes by pretty quickly. There is lots to keep me occupied.
I'll be working in the tall building in the back.
It was a beautiful day today so, I decided to walk for a bit on the High Line which is two blocks from my new office. I'm happy to have all of this green close by.
I got off the High Line near the Chelsea Market. Love it there! Every nook and cranny is packed with wall-to-wall awesome. After browsing for a bit, I headed home for lunch.
Just a quick update for now... More soon!

Park Slope, Brooklyn.

Last week's trip to Brooklyn, NY was a success! After seeing 15 apartments in two days, without the help of a broker - welcome to NY...figure it out - I settled on a 1 bedroom on Sackett Street. I couldn't be happier about the neighborhood and the apartment. And LOOK, there are trees! I'm very close (3-4 blocks) from Prospect Park, steps from the subway and 1/2 block from 5th Ave which I'm told has lots of great restaurants, shops and a farmer's market in spring/summer. Hallelujah! And the drum roll...there is laundry in my apartment! Small victories.

The blogging break is over!

Just needed a little time to reflect and refresh. I think it's time to get back to blogging...My first order of business is to let you know that I'm moving to New York City! Wahoooo!

I'll be working as an Art Producer at an agency in Manhattan located on West 26th Street (Midtown/Chelsea area).
Now, to find an apartment. Some NY'ers tell me this is no small task. Having already lost two apartments overnight while sleeping, I sort of believe them. I'll be flying down to NYC next weekend to start and (hopefully) end my search. Wish me luck.
I'm sure this is the first of many NYC updates. Can't wait to share my new adventures with all of you! xoxo
