Park Slope, Brooklyn.

Last week's trip to Brooklyn, NY was a success! After seeing 15 apartments in two days, without the help of a broker - welcome to NY...figure it out - I settled on a 1 bedroom on Sackett Street. I couldn't be happier about the neighborhood and the apartment. And LOOK, there are trees! I'm very close (3-4 blocks) from Prospect Park, steps from the subway and 1/2 block from 5th Ave which I'm told has lots of great restaurants, shops and a farmer's market in spring/summer. Hallelujah! And the drum roll...there is laundry in my apartment! Small victories.

My new spot.

Today, it's 69 and sunny with a light breeze. Pretty psyched to have this to enjoy for awhile. It's so much fun to explore a new space and find inspiration in all of it's details. xoxo

Housewarming!

This past Tuesday night, I had a couple of people over for cupcakes and conversation. It was great to have old friends meet newer friends and for everyone to see the new place. Since it was a Tuesday night, I didn't have more than two hours to get everything ready after work and before everyone arrived. I felt rushed but, as soon as the first guests arrived, I slowed right down and enjoyed every minute of it. A place always feels more like a home when friends visit. I can't wait to host another shindig soon!

My bedroom!

Things are still coming together at my new place but, my bedroom is feeling more like home. The curtains are up, the night stands are put together and there's artwork on the walls. I've lost a little bit of my motivation now that I can get through most days without having to dig through a box to find something. Eventually, I'll find a home for those last few things that are laying around in the dining and living room. You have to come over for a visit soon! xo

Details, details.

I've been in my new apartment for the better part of a month now. It's been fun getting to know the creaky wood floor, the gas stove that burned most of the first meal I cooked on it and how things look when the sun shines in through the windows during certain times of the day. There is a short list of things I'd like to do before I'll really feel like each room is fully functional. In the meantime, I'm enjoying the parts that feel complete!

Remembering...

What a full week it's been! The biggest news I have to share is that I'm moving out of my apartment and into a two bedroom apartment on South Union Street - here in Burlington. I have loved my time in this special place on Maple Street but, it's time for a change come January 1st. I was able to discuss my plans with my landlord this morning so we could establish the details of the search for a new tenant. He and I will be sharing this task since January 1st is coming right up. I took a few pictures of my apartment for the craigslist post. I wanted to share them here so I wouldn't forget. I'll miss this place a lot but, I'm leaving with so many memories. I think great things are to come!
