Kasey, Chris and I grabbed brunch together yesterday morning at this little spot called Kitchenette in Tribeca. It was close to where Kasey and her husband were staying in the Financial District. Chris took the train in from Greenpoint. We ate a ton of food including red velvet pancakes. They turned out to be pancakes with red food coloring? Anyway, good food and good conversation. We decided to walk around with no plan to see what we could see. We ended up at the 9/11 site but, we didn't go in. Too long of a line. We looked at the memorial from the overpass and exchanged stories about where we were that morning. After a bit we decided to continue on through Chinatown. Kasey was offered a bag, some lunch and a boyfriend in the same sentence. Good times. Then, onto Little Italy. It's much smaller than Chinatown but, super cute! We ended up walking to the JDK office in Soho. Despite the deep cleaning that was in progress, we ended up on the roof where I shot a quick pic of Kasey and Chris for their new album. Then onto Sweet & Vicious for an afternoon beer...okay 3 beers. We exchanged some war stories and eventually Kasey's husband Zack showed up. The four of us went on a quick shopping excursion to Uniqlo. Kasey and Zack split for dinner and I decided to head uptown with Chris to meet some of his friends. We ended up near 42nd street in some sports bar. After a bit we made one more stop at a bar that is known for cheap beer and FREE hot dogs-cheapest NYC dinner yet! It tasted amazing after our long walk. I decided that it was time to head home at about 8pm. It had been the longest brunch ever! If you're ever looking for a good person to show you around NYC, don't go with Chris. He'll walk you right through the ghetto. Just kidding. He was a great tour guide despite a few sketchy alleyways we ended up in. Can't wait for Kasey's next visit!
